Interesting article on the crucial role women played during World War II as “human computers”, calculating ballistic trajectories and, later on, debugging the first computer, ENIAC, and writing code for it.

Their work was hardly recognized back then, partly due to the secretive nature of the work. In 1997, Bartik (one of the fist women computers) was inducted into the Women in Technology Hall of Fame.
